Introduction

My name is Emily Cuthbert, and I want to be a screenwriter!

Some of my favorite memories are of when I was six and I would stay up writing stories for my dad to read when he got home from work. I’ve never really stopped writing stories since. Writing is the one thing I know I’ve always wanted to do – whether it’s screenwriting, narrative writing, maybe even writing for video games or ads. No matter what, I want to write!

That passion to write, and attending UVU’s Digital Media Program, has brought me a ton of great experiences both inside and outside of school. I was the only one to score a 50 out of 50 on my Storytelling for Digital Media final (read that script here!). I learned that my strengths on set lean towards the AD, Scripty, and offset as the Screenwriter. This year I get to participate on the 2025 FEMME crew (as part of Crafty, which should be a fun experience for all). I even shot my first short film over the summer of 2024!

I think my ultimate career goals are to write for TV or a Webseries. Specifically, it’s my dream to create a modern miniseries adaptation of Dracula, to create or work on a Scooby-Doo show, and to create an ARG or Unfiction Webseries along the lines of Marble Hornets or Everyman Hybrid!
